On behalf of the 9 chapters and over 400+ men, welcome to the Interfraternity Council!

As one of the instrumental organizations on Christopher Newport University’s Campus, Greek organizations of all sizes have played a vital role in the development of our students.

 

While each fraternity holds different values and letters, the main thread that holds everyone together stems from friendship. Fraternity life on campus rarely defines an individual’s university experience. Our fraternities on campus offer young men the chance to be a part of something bigger than themselves; they become part of a community with opportunities for leadership, growth, and development. These opportunities create a foundation for empowerment which push our members to pursue what they love and take the necessary risks to accomplish their dreams.

This environment pushes students to achieve the highest ideals of character, honor, and leadership. Throughout the university, our members are everywhere from the classroom to the fields-leading debates and class discussions to scoring goals. The Greek Community here at Christopher Newport University challenges its members to succeed no matter where they are on campus. 

 

The IFC Community works closely with two other incredible Greek Organizations on campus: Panhellenic Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council. As a system, we strive to maintain and build an environment that fosters academic growth and excellence while providing an outlet for self-governance and accountability.

I joined a fraternity to be a part of something larger; to be surrounded by both friends and brothers as we collectively strive to improve ourselves, our campus, and our community. Fraternal life and my brothers mean the world to me. They are with me to celebrate my achievements and encourage me through my setbacks, as I am with them for theirs.
