Welcome to The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Christopher Newport University! 

 

The IFC proudly serves as the governing body for 8 fraternity chapters and over 350 fraternity members here at Christopher Newport University. Each with shared values and a strong mission, the fraternities at CNU offer students a supportive community, lifelong memories, and professional development. 

The IFC’s mission is to support and enhance the fraternity experience at CNU. By promoting academic excellence, organizing philanthropic activities, and offering leadership development and networking opportunities, the IFC plays a crucial role in shaping well-rounded students to be a part of something larger. Additionally, the IFC works closely with the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the College Panhellenic Council to ensure a cohesive and supportive Greek community on campus. A community where students feel welcome and supported. 

Our structured recruitment process ensures fairness and transparency, allowing prospective members to make informed decisions about joining our fraternity community. We continuously strive to create a positive impact on campus and in the broader community. Through diverse and inclusive events, educational sessions, and community service opportunities,we strive to build a strong, supportive, and engaged fraternity community. These efforts benefit our members and contribute to the overall betterment of CNU.

Personally, joining a fraternity has allowed me to grow as an individual, develop leadership skills, gain internships in my desired career field, form lifelong bonds with like-minded individuals. This experience has been transformative, providing me with countless opportunities to learn, serve, and lead. I can confidently say joining a fraternity was one of the best decisions I have made during my college career.
